Gene E. Myers Cardiac & Vascular Consultants welcomes Paul Bates, MMS, PA-C, to the team! Paul is a certified Physician Assistant and his experience demonstrates his ability to keep calm under pressure—Paul joins our practice fresh from the United States Air Force where he served as a physician assistant at a large Air Force-run medical center in Texas. Paul has also served as a paramedic and holds Advanced Life Support certifications in Trauma, Cardiac and Pediatric care. A Michigan native, Paul first achieved his Bachelor of Science degree with honors in biology and then pursued a master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies in southern Florida. Paul recently relocated to the Sarasota area from southern Florida and will split his time supporting our three offices in Sarasota, Wauchula and Arcadia.
Paul says, “I’m excited to be in this part of the state and working in Cardiology at this great practice! I was attracted to the medical field because I enjoy treating patients and doing what I can to improve people’s quality of life.” This attitude is right in line with our mission—to promote prevention and early detection, to accurately diagnose, to compassionately treat and to assist with rehabilitation. It makes sense then that smoking cessation programs are near to Paul’s heart! He encourages all smokers to quit, especially cardiac patients! If the patients of Gene E. Myers Cardiac & Vascular Consultants need some moral support, a kick in the rear, or some tips and advice, Paul would be happy to assist. Of providing care, Paul says, “I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.” We feel the same way! From the entire Gene E. Myers Cardiac & Vascular Consultants team, Welcome Paul!
