Peripheral angiography is a diagnostic study for patients who have blocked blood vessels either in their legs or lower bodies. Blocked arteries can lead to leg cramps and prevent wounds from healing properly. As time goes on you are at risk for high blood pressure or a stroke. In our office, we use iodine based dye which is injected into the arteries to make them visible. It allows the doctors to ‘map’ out the blood vessels to determine if there is a disease or blockage and where it is. Peripheral angiography may be used for the upper body as well. The procedure can either take as little as an hour or as long as three to be completed.
This procedure is available in the
Sarasota location only.
