The head-up tilt table test is a way to evaluate the cause of fainting spells. The test involves lying quietly on a bed and being tilted at different angles (30 to 60 degrees) for a period of time while various machines monitor your blood pressure, electrical impulses in your heart, and your oxygen level.
A tilt test may be recommended if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
- An abnormal nervous system reaction
- A drop in blood pressure when you stand up
- Heart problems
This procedure is available at our main Sarasota campus as well as our Wauchula and Arcadia locations.
